Digital River & Magento team-up to create customized commerce solution

Digital River, a renowned global ecommerce facilitator for well-known and fast-growing brands, has reportedly signed a new strategic partnership deal with Magento, a leading provider of commerce innovations to retailers and brands throughout industries.

By combining topnotch global payments and risk protection services of Digital River with the control and flexibility of the Magento commerce platform, brands could now build a personalized ecommerce solution that would allow them to extend into novel global markets, thereby offering customers the localized experience they expect.

This collaboration comes alongside the launch of a new API-first architecture by Digital River that allows dealers and merchants the opportunity to create effective solutions that can meet shopper demands globally.

Mike French, head of global partnerships, Digital River, stated that the team-up with Magento along with an excellent system integrator like diconium means that brands could now have the flexibility to use Magento for full control of shopper experience and control management, when deploying unique model of Merchant and Seller of Record business by Digital River. 

French further added that the company wants dealers to focus more on their brand, by knowing that Digital River is taking risk as well as responsibility for all crucial financial elements of their online sale, which also includes consent with country specific tax and trade laws, along with collecting and settling all taxes and payments, a service combination called as The Onshore Advantage™.

Andre Dogan, senior manager, Technology Partner Program, stated that the company is thrilled to bring Digital River onboard to the company’s Technology Partner Program. By merging the control and agility of the Magento platform with global payments and risk solutions of Digital River, it provides both companies’ joint clients a flexible ecommerce stack delivering a localized buying experience.

Roland Oberdorfer, managing partner, diconium, stated that having a long-standing relationship with Magento, and now the new collaboration with Digital River will allow the company to integrate systems in secure and modular way that would be repeatable.

Oberdorfer further stated that by linking Payments and Risk solutions of both Digital River and Magento, they can help dealers open their sites in order to sell to customers across the world in a few months rather than years.

Advanced digital brands could now look towards Magento and Digital River to deliver a solution allowing them to control the grow revenue, customer experience, and move into global markets with local payment methods and acquirers that could increase the rates of conversion.
