Google acquires Velostrata, expands portfolio of cloud migration tools

The American multinational tech giant Google Inc., has apparently purchased an Israeli cloud migration firm Velostrata. As per reliable sources, the details pertaining to the financial transaction of the deal are yet to be published.

Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer of Velostrata, Issy Ben-Shaul was quoted stating that the firm is delighted to join a robust global cloud infrastructure like Google Cloud. He further stated that the Velostrata commenced its journey back in 2014 with an aim to create a feasible yet secure cloud platform and simplify enterprise transition to the cloud.

Reportedly, Velostrata’s patented cloud solutions allow workloads to transparently migrate to the public cloud in an exceptionally short time span. Moreover, these solutions adapt workloads on the fly for cloud execution. The firm has been successful in developing a breakthrough technology, named as real-time agentless workload streaming, owing to the efforts of a core team of WAN optimization and systems experts.

Sources reveal that enterprise consumers can either operate their entire data centers or migrate in a hybrid cloud ecosystem and migrate workloads on demand.

Commenting on the latest acquisition, Vice President of Google Cloud Platform, Eyal Manor was quoted stating that the buying Velostrata would add to their broad portfolio of migration tools that would assist the firm in supporting businesses in their journey toward cloud adoption. He further stated that the new migration tools would aid in simplifying the onboarding procedure of businesses to the Google Cloud Platform.

For the record, the San Jose, California based Velostrata was established in 2014 by Chief Product Officer Ady Degany and Chief Executive Officer Issy Ben-Shaul. The cloud migration firm, which has its research and development center at Netanya (Israel), has reportedly raised around USD 31.5 million till date from investors including 83 North and Norwest Venture Partners.
