NETS launches new contactless CashCard with its own mobile app

NETS, a Singapore based payment service provider, has introduced a contactless CashCard that it will provide along with its own mobile application. As per the company sources, the new product is expected to help customers track various online transactions and register for automatic topping up of their cash cards.

Reportedly, the second-generation of the in-vehicle units (IUs) incorporated in the vehicles registered in Singapore can now use the new NETS Contactless CashCard. For instance, drivers will now be able to use the card to make a payment for car parking and will be able to insert them into the IUs for paying ERP charges.

The Singapore-based firm has declared that the innovative product will offer drivers with the facility of seamless & quick payment option at all the car parking arenas in Singapore irrespective of the type of in-vehicle unit they use. The cost of the new brand introduced by the payment service provider is nearly S$10, which also includes S$5 as the stored value, at various distribution channels such as 7-Eleven, VICOM, Caltex, and Cheers. The firm has stated that the product can be availed on the NETS FlashPay web portal.

As per sources, the new cards can also be used by those drivers, whose car parks are not advanced. For the upgraded ones, motorists are required to insert their contactless CashCard into the IU and then wait for the occurrence of automatic deduction, before the entry or exit from the parks. It has been projected that the product is going to be delivered to the customers with the mobile app support in the month of July this year.

Alvin Seck, head of the products & business development at NETS, has proclaimed that the CashCard has been identified with car park transactions & ERP charges since its launch in 1996 across Singapore.
