Smart home industry giants to reign supreme over the next few years, Amazon still at the winning end of the spectrum, followed by Google

With prominent technology giants vying over one another regarding smart technology innovations, global smart home market growth is on a rigorous ascent. Amazon Inc. has always been at the forefront of smart home automation, as witnessed by the launch of numerous smart home products, such as Amazon Alexa, and now, Amazon Echo. Not keen to remain far behind, Amazon’s prime competitor, tech behemoth Google Inc., has forayed into global smart home industry with its own smart solutions.

Google Home is the patent smart technology product of the company, a fitting system developed to take over its counterparts. Powered by Google Assistant, Google Home offers comfort facilities such as streaming live music, controlling other smart home devices, searching valid answers for questions, and contributing toward an orderly life. In a bid to race ahead of its competitors, Google is considering to create an entire smart ecosystem by integrating all the potential smart appliances into one, compelling hub, that will revolutionize smart home market.

Experts predict that Google is forecast to obtain enormous gains from this all-in-one smart solution. Say for instance, a prospective buyer might not have to hunt separately for a Google smart speaker and a Google Wi-fi router. Integrated into a combined system, the resultant product will offer multiple benefits of both the appliances implanted in the same package. If this speculation indeed proves to be true, Google is likely to take a step ahead of its key competitor, securing the top position in smart home industry.

Amazon’s Alexa provides the capability of voice recognition to secure purchases or increasing the thermostat temperature powered by voice commands. In addition, it offers the abilities of booking a cab ride or ordering meals online. Amazon surged ahead in the smart home market owing to the launch of this flagship smart product in 2014, embedded with smart AI capabilities.

In contrast, Google Home’s arch rival, Echo, offers a host of services such as book reading, smart device control, calendar management, searching for places, dimming lights, etc. This home automation hub directly profits Amazon’s retail business and has generated the maximum leads in a short span of time, fueling global smart home industry.

With Google and Amazon at the helm of global smart home market, other competitors are facing tough challenges to come up with innovative smart products to be used across the various regions of the globe. Enormous precedence of smart products, especially across APAC, changing consumer preferences, and technological advancements, will positively influence global and Chinese smart home appliances industry, which will in turn, propel worldwide smart home market.

Recent statistics project that voice is the next massive thing to drive smart home industry, as more than 25% of device interaction by 2018 will occur via voice commands. Growing technological innovations will stimulate smart product demand over the years to come, which will significantly spur global smart home market.
