SUSE & AWS to expand business alliance to improve SAP applications

SUSE, a German-based open-source software firm that creates & sells Linux products to the end-users, has apparently declared to grow its business relationships with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Reports claim that the collaboration between the two firms will help them fulfill the escalating end-user requirement for agile & cost-effective cloud-based applications. SUSE’s officials have gone on record to state that the firm will authorize AWS to resell SUSE Linux enterprise servers for its SAP applications on AWS Marketplace.

According to Business Insider, the subscribers of Amazon web services running SAP on SUSE Linux server, a main tool for SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA, will obtain assistance from both SUSE and AWS. Apparently, it will help consumers to harness on-demand pricing advantages and reserved instances.

The General Manager of Amazon Web Services has stated that the move will help its customers obtain Amazon Business support through a single point contact. He further claimed that the partnership will assist end-users in the deployment & scaling of SAP HANA applications on the SUSE server. Experts are of the opinion that many of the SAP HANA users also utilize the services of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for their SAP applications while creating, testing, and running SAS workloads. Huge business enterprises have also been reported to use SUSE services to produce, examine, and run production workloads on the Amazon Web Services platform.

As per company sources, the SUSE Linux server, which is used to effectively execute SAP applications, also encompasses page cache management & kernel settings, whose functions & activities are improved for handling SAP workloads proficiently. This business decision is forecast to prove rather beneficial for the end-users, who can easily start with SUSE Server for their SAP HANA workloads of SAP applications through the use of AWS SAP HANA Quick Start.
