Tourism Malaysia & ShopBack join hands to lure travelers to the nation

In a move to facilitate growth of online travel bookings, Tourism Malaysia and ShopBack Malaysia have reportedly entered into a collaboration to support the biggest ShopBack-organized Online Travel Fair, being held in Malaysia from March 11 to March 17.

The latest tie-up encourages ShopBack’s efforts in attracting tourists into travelling across Malaysia, by offering exciting cashback and travel bonuses.

According to Dr. Ammar Abd Ghapar, Senior Director of Domestic and Events Division, Tourism Malaysia, this is the third time the tourism major is supporting ShopBack’s endeavor in upholding domestic travels. The company has been circulating a series of videos exemplifying the immense natural beauty of the SE Asian country, with supporting the Online Travel Fair this year, organized by ShopBack and held in association with its partner merchants including Expedia, Agoda, Booking.com, Trip.com, Malaysia Airlines, KLOOK, BusOnlineTicket and Traveloka among others.

Dr. Ammar added that the last ShopBack-backed Online Travel Fair had achieved tremendous growth, which encourages the tourism company to enhance the industry performance and growth, in conjunction with consistent efforts from the private as well as public sector e-commerce players, and further meet the Visit Malaysia 2020 goal.

Alvin Gill, ShopBack Malaysia, General Manager, said that travelers can receive around 8% cashback on almost every travel booking, by means of a special partnership held by all online travel websites. He explained that if a hotel room charges RM500, the traveler has an option to open the ShopBack application or web, click the merchant site for booking and eventually receive RM40 as cashback.

Gill further revealed that ShopBack, through its 2019 online travel fair, is offering travelers, who purchase trip, flight and accommodation packages to any destination in Malaysia via the company’s platform, an extra RM25 bonus cashback. He added that the company is honored to have generous support from Tourism Malaysia intended for this campaign.
