UPS to partner with 3 giant retailers to enter e-commerce space

United Parcel Service has announced its partnership with major retailers for expanding its reach into the e-commerce market.

One of America's biggest package delivery and supply chain management company, United Parcel Service (UPS) has recently announced its alliance with the three well-known retailers with an objective to seize a share of the e-commerce industry.

It has been reported that the pharmacy giant, CVS, Advanced Auto Parts, and Arts and Crafts retailer-The Michaels Company would lend their support to UPS to add over 12,000 additional Access Point Locations around the US where the e-commerce customers can schedule the package pick up or drop off. With over 12,000 new access point locations, the count is now expected to grow up to 21,000 which will keep about 90% of the population within the vicinity of their access point location.

UPS Chief Sales and Solutions Officer, Kate Gutmann has exclaimed that through this alliance, the company looks forward to attaining further geographic reach and greater densities and provide the customers a convenient way of delivery. For the record, the announcement of the partnership was made on the day of the company's second quarter earnings report release.

The company follows the USP of driving innovative products and services to help the customers grow and succeed. With its giant delivery service, UPS faces high competition from its rival Amazon which is currently scaling up its logistics business via Amazon Air and FedEx.

Along with this partnership, reportedly UPS would be launching UPS Worldwide Economy which would provide the customers more affordable and convenient shipping options with the same UPS track, trace & delivery system. This new service will be made available to the citizens of the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.

United Parcel Service is a Georgia based American multinational package delivery and supply chain manager company. It is known to be one of the biggest delivery giants in the United States.
