BPOC joins hands with SPCP to expand access to healthcare services

Healthcare-focused private equity company BPOC has recently inked a collaboration with Dr. Thomas Bat, in order to form a regionally focused primary case MSO (management services organization). SPCP (Southeast Primary Care Partners, LLC), along with its affiliated practices, is focused mainly on collaborating with independent primary care providers to improve high-quality care access and enhance overall community health.

As it was being formed, SPCP inked its affiliate partnership with NAPC (North Atlanta Primary Care), a primary care practice founded by Dr. Bat in 1990. NAPC is located in metropolitan Atlanta, and delivers comprehensive, high-quality primary care to adult and senior patients. It comprises of over 65 providers in nearly 13 locations and is expecting to open even more practices later in the year.

NAPC and SPCP will act as the platform for the new investment by BPOC towards the primary care domain. SPCP is working towards expanding its affiliated practices, by implementing a dedicated growth strategy, which includes de novos and acquisitions. Partner at BPOC, Peter Magas has reportedly expressed that the company is thrilled to be partnering with Dr. Bat and a respected independent practice in a fast-growing market space. He added that primary care is a pivotal aspect of care delivery, and commended NAPC on its reputation as a model quality care practice.

CEO of Southeast Primary Care Partners, Dr. Thomas Bat, M.D., also spoke about the deal, and expressed his pride towards what the team has achieved over the past three decades. He further added that the healthcare knowledge, primary care expertise and relationships of BPOC will expedite the growth of SPCP, whilst remaining focused on comprehensive, high-quality care.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP and Pascual, LLC served as legal counsel to SPCP, while Genesis Capital LLC acted as financial advisor. McDermott Will & Emery LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as BPOC’s legal counsel on the deal.
