Care Studio allies with MEDITECH to create value in healthcare

Care Studio, the healthcare data platform of Google, has reportedly established a new partnership with MEDITECH, a prominent leader of EHR systems, to create value in the healthcare sector.

This announcement was made a week ago at the HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) conference.

The tech giant stated that it is working with MEDITECH to develop an integrated solution to introduce some of its data harmonization, summarization, and search capabilities to MEDITECH Expanse, the company’s web-based EHR (electronic health records).

MEDITECH will use Google Health’s tools to form a longitudinal layer of health data, consolidating data from various sources into a standard format and providing clinicians a comprehensive view of patient records.

With the integration of Google Health’s search functionality into their EHR, clinicians can find critical information faster for a smoother experience, and the summarization can directly emphasize important information in the workflow of Expanse. This will help in the advancement of healthcare data interoperability, developing MEDITECH’s vision of a connected ecosystem. The partnership will use the infrastructure of Google Cloud and expand the collaboration.

Interestingly, Google has proven to be a leading force when it comes to innovation over the years. The firm continues to find new methods to offer value to billions of people across the world. Google’s latest venture is using its Care Studio platform to integrate strong search features, facilitating information, and data organization in more useful methods.

According to the company, Care Studio depends on Google’s expertise in insight organization to aid clinicians in the faster discovery of health records. The tool’s Clinical Search feature allows clinicians to find specific information by simply typing what they are looking for. These tools provide a centralized view for clinicians to automatically view a patient’s crucial information, including outpatient events, hospital visits, medications, laboratory tests, and progress and treatment notes.

Google has strived hard to develop the platform to specifically acknowledge the barriers faced by existing healthcare IT systems. The system is now ready to be used for establishing new partnerships.
