InfuSystem acquires OB Healthcare’s assets to expand DME platform

InfuSystem Holdings, Inc., a healthcare service provider, has recently announced the acquisition of the operating assets of the Texas-based biomedical services company, OB Healthcare Corporation. Additional terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

OB Healthcare is widely known for offering preventive maintenance, on-site repair, as well as physical device inventory management to the healthcare systems across the nation. The latest acquisition of its assets will help InfuSystem expand its DME (Durable Medical Equipment Services) platform & complements its FilAMed purchase, the deal which was announced in February 2021.

According to InfuSystem’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard DiIorio, the recent takeover deal happened along the heels of the purchase of FilAMed, a company that has been offering remote repair service out of its manufacturing plants located in Bakersfield, California. The business relationships between the two companies will dramatically enhance its expertise in delivering biomedical services as well as increase the business opportunities across the acute care market. It also appreciates OB Healthcare for lending a strong focus on the field service to ensure biomedical repair and maintenance.

Mr. DiIorio further cited that the synergies between the team of mobile technicians at OB Healthcare for on-site services at the hospital setting as well as FilAMed’s expertise in servicing various medical devices will provide a significantly expanded specialized biomedical service scope for InfuSystem’s customers. The combination will also provide a choice for customers to choose between remote or on-site repair services.

The latest acquisition agreement further highlights the crucial development of InfuSystem in expanding the addressable markets for the highly scalable operating platforms, i.e. the DME (Durable Medical Equipment Services) and ITS (Integrated Therapy Services), Mr. DiIorio added. The company is looking forward to seamlessly integrating uninterrupted customer service as well as serving OB Healthcare’s employees & customers across the nation.
