Eurofins Scientific, a leading provider of bioanalytical testing services, inked an agreement with pathology lab diagnostics company Stichting PAMM Laboratoria voor Pathologie en Medische Microbiologie.
Under the agreement, Eurofins commits to invest in R&D, laboratory, employee development, innovation, and job security. The ACM, Merger Control (Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets), and the Dutch Healthcare authority (NZa) approved the agreement.
Eurofins Chief Executive Officer Dr. Gilles Martin commented that the agreement will strengthen the Group’s extensive offering of innovative tests to practitioners and hospitals in the Netherlands.
It also reinforces the geographic offering of Eurofins in the clinical testing market and improves its ability to install the latest scientific advances that will benefit patients, added Dr. Martin.
For those unversed, PAMM offers services to six hospitals in Holland, including two high-rated clinical oncology centers, independent treatment centers, and general practitioners.
The lab specializes in pathology and medical microbiology and is The Netherlands’ first lab to have fully implemented digital pathology. PAMM consists of about 265 pathologists and employees and will complement the market-leading global clinical testing offering of Eurofins.
By incorporating forces, PAMM will be able to enhance service to patients and quality to clients in the Dutch healthcare system.
On the other hand, Eurofins is the world leader in environment, food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical product testing along with forensics, advanced material sciences, discovery pharmacology, and agroscience Contract Research services.
The company is also an industry leader in some laboratory and testing services for genomics, clinical studies, as well as Contract Development, and Manufacturing of BioPharma. The Eurofins Group also has a strong presence in in-vitro diagnostic products and molecular clinical diagnostic testing.
With over 58,000 staff throughout a network of 900 laboratories across 54 countries, companies in the Eurofins Group offer a portfolio of more than 200,000 analytical methods.
