MCE to supply electronics & mechatronic parts for Proton car models

MCE Holdings Berhad, a renowned investment holding firm, has apparently received contracts to supply complex electronics & mechatronic components for new Proton car models. According to authentic sources, the contract of supplying the components has been offered for a duration of ten years. The contracts will commence from the first quarter of the next financial year and are expected to produce a revenue of nearly RM62 million for MCE over the ten-year span. The overall investment costs are evaluated at RM4.8 million.

As per the key officials of MCE, the firm slipped into debt in the second quarter that ended in January 31, 2018. Its total loss was estimated at 195,000 Ringgit as compared to its overall profit of nearly 583,000 ringgit or EPS (Earnings Per Share) of 1.31 Sen. Data statistics display that the quarterly revenue of the firm had declined to RM16.97 million from RM24.6 million as a result of low demand for MCE’s OEM brands. The income of the firm in the first half of 2017 had dipped to 34.62 million Ringgit. Amidst this grim scenario, these new contracts are expected to boost the profit of the firm over the coming years.

MCE has stated that it is searching for strategic partnerships for expanding its product portfolio and is likely to enhance its consumer base and profit via its expertise. Incidentally, the Malaysian firm is involved in the design, production, and supply of vehicle components. It is believed that the firm is diversifying its business operations into the healthcare sector after the acquiring land in Selangor.

As per the annual reports presented in the last financial year, the firm has proceeded with the initial planning & design of the medical center and is discovering various alternatives of the new business.
