Sai Life to drive biology capabilities at new R&D center in Hyderabad

Sai Life Sciences, a CRDMO (Contract Research, Development, & Manufacturing Organization) has recently announced plans to drive biology capabilities at its Hyderabad-based R&D campus.

As per the organization’s plan, the 75,000 sq. ft. facility, with a team of 170 biologists, will house expanded in vivo and in vitro biology services, DMPK, & toxicology capabilities. The 1st set of labs is set to be opened in March 2021.

As per the statement made by Krishna Kanumuri, Sai Life Sciences’ Managing Director & CEO, the company is seeking to deliver nearly 100 development candidates for the innovator partners by 2025. Its team of discovery biology, along with the teams in process engineering, process development, scale-up, and medicinal chemistry, will help accelerate clients’ discovery programs by reducing decision-making cycles and increasing turnaround times.

For the record, Sai Life Sciences has been surging its biology capabilities to develop a robust foundation in DMPK, medicinal chemistry, & toxicology to support customers in their drug discovery journey, from target ID & validation to IND.

In 2019, the company launched its 1st international R&D facility in Boston, U.S., which was designed to deliver biology services to the start-up and biotechnology companies to help them address the exploratory & custom biology needs. The team at this Boston facility seamlessly partners with the toxicology, DMPK, and biologist teams in India to offer optimal solutions to clients.

Sai Life Sciences’ discovery services aid several innovator companies across the globe, functioning in a range of therapeutic areas such as inflammation, antivirals, CNS, and oncology. In addition, the company has maintained a track record of building customer relationships as well as advanced 25+ programs to various clinical trial phases with the average turnaround time.
