Sectra, a medical imaging IT and cybersecurity firm, has reportedly inked a contract with North York General Hospital (NYGH) in Toronto, Canada.
Notably, NYGH will adopt the radiology and breast imaging modules as well as VNA (vendor-neutral archive) of the enterprise imaging solution offered by Sectra to store and review images. With the replacement of multiple systems with one unified imaging platform, the hospital can enhance workflows and boost radiology reading efficiency to improve patient care without increasing the workload.
According to NYGH’s Chief of Radiology and Medical Director of Medical Imaging, Dr. Ryan Margau, the company has been emphasizing the use of a modern solution that enhances the system performance as well as radiologist reading efficiency. It has also been targeting to adopt a solution that has high remote reading capabilities and AI integration.
With the use of Sectra’s enterprise imaging solution, NYGH will be able to assign the right case to the user, view various images from any modality, and access an extensive and native diagnostic toolset from a single platform. Moreover, the solution will also be integrated with the EMR and patient portals of the hospital.
As per the statement made by Sectra Canada Inc.’s President, Nader Soltani, the company has shown excitement to welcome NYGH as the new member of its enterprise imaging community. With the use of its solution, the hospital will be able to expand and benefit from the emerging technology and integrated diagnostics.
The recent contract will provide NYGH with Sectra One, a subscription-based model of the enterprise imaging offering. This allows for the scalability of the system as the hospital’s volumes increase as well as facilitates expansion in other specialties.
For those unversed, NYGH offers quality acute, long-term, and ambulatory care to over half a million people in seven sites. Meanwhile, Sectra's solution delivers a unified strategy for the imaging needs while reducing operational costs.
