Stop & Shop collaborates with Volta Charging to offer EV charging

Stop & Shop has reportedly partnered with Volta Industries Inc. to install five electric vehicle charging stations across its Northeast stores fleet.

These stations will enable consumers owning electric vehicles to charge their cars at no additional cost in select stores. Stop & Shop is the first company in the Northeast to collaborate with Volta Charging, a leading company in the electric charging networks.

At present, the charging stations of Volta can be found outside Stop & Shop stores in Walpole, MA, East Brunswick, NJ, Pawtucket, RI, Morris Plains, NJ, and Willimantic, CT. By the end of 2021, Stop & Shop is predicted to introduce around 50 more Volta charging stations across five states in the Northeast.

At every store with the charging provision, consumers will be able to use two electric vehicle charging stations, which will feature Volta Charging’s marquee two-sided, eye-catching, high-resolution digital displays. EV owners can park in the allotted spaces and let the car charge while they shop. A Volta charging station can provide up to 30 miles of average range per hour.

The President of Stop & Shop, Gordon Reid, supposedly commented that the company is excited to collaborate with Volta Charging and offer its consumers the benefit of EV charging at no additional cost. He added that this convenience enables Stop & Shop to offer consumers something more than shopping and also contribute to a carbon-free environment.

Scott Mercer, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Volta Charging, apparently stated that the collaboration with Stop & Shop will offer greater access to reliable, convenient, and open charging infrastructure amid the rapid shift towards electric transportation.

He added that the goal of Volta Charging is to provide dependable fueling solutions for drivers at locations that are visited every day. A partnership with Stop & Shop allows Volta to achieve this goal efficiently by letting drivers recharge their vehicles in a familiar environment.
